AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION

The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency to help reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

AMERICAN STROKE ASSOCIATION

The American Stroke Association is solely focused on reducing disability and death from stroke.

CENTER FOR RESUSCITATION SCIENCE (UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA)

The overall mission of the Center for Resuscitation Science is to improve the survival of victims of cardiac arrest by developing new, more effective treatments and therapies.

EUROPEAN RESUSCITATION COUNCIL

The European Resuscitation Council is the network of the National Resuscitation Councils in Europe. Other member organisations of the ERC are the Red Cross and the European scientific organisations of Cardiology, Intensive Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Anaesthesiology . The ERC represents these organisation on a global level at the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR - the collaboration producing the International Consensus on Science documents). EMCOOLS regularly supports the annual ERC congress.

EUROPEAN STROKE RESEARCH NETWORK FOR HYPOTHERMIA (EuroHYP)

The European Stroke Research Network for Hypothermia (EuroHYP) is a not-for-profit scientific association, established in December 2008. The association aims to develop, support and promote the medical research and dissemination activities related to stroke and brain diseases in general, especially considering the experimental and clinical research related to hypothermia and its therapeutic applications aiming to protect the human health.

INTERNATIONAL HYPOTHERMIA SYMPOSIUM

This unique scientific event is of great significance for clinical and basic scientists from all around the world, with an interest in the expanding field of therapeutic hypothermia. The venue of the International Hypothermia Symposium rotates among the continents, and has so far been hosted by Tokyo in 2004, by Miami in 2007, by Sweden in 2009 and by Tokyo in 2011 - all highly successful meetings. During these meetings the most recent progress in the area of therapeutic hypothermia is presented and discussed. As a leading company in the field of therapeutic hypothermia EMCOOLS supports and attends this important event.

THE HYPOTHERMIA NETWORK

The Hypothermia Network is a clinical and research network, supported by the Scandinavian Critical Care Trials Group (SCCTG) and the Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (SSAI).

The Hypothermia Network is independent, non-commercial and has three main aims:

  1. To promote the introduction of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest through a continuous update of clinical protocols and treatment proposals (available on the web).
  2. To promote the documentation of the clinical use of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest through a common registry - the International Cardiac Arrest Registry (INTCAR) - which will enable evaluation of this new treatment paradigm. Unconscious cardiac arrest patients, not treated with induced hypothermia, will also be registered.
  3. To promote common research projects.

WORLD STROKE ORGANIZATION

The World Stroke Organization (WSO) was established in October 2006 from the merger of the International Stroke Society (ISS) and the World Stroke Federation (WSF), the two lead organizations representing stroke globally. The mission of WSO is to provide access to stroke care and to promote research and teaching in this area that will improve the care of stroke victims throughout the world.
