Doris Bures, Federal Minister of the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit) and the Austrian society for research (FFG) has awarded EMCOOLS for future oriented research with a € 10.000 market bonus.

FDA CLEARANCE FOR THE EMCOOLS COOLING SYSTEM
EMCOOLS Pad has been granted clearance to the US market by the FDA on October 12th, 2010. The FDA has determined the substantial equivalence of the EMCOOLS Pad to predicate devices already legally marketed in the US. The FDA clearance is a huge step forward for EMCOOLS and will help us significantly to enter the next level of growth.

Patient cooling in the German county Dahme-Spreewald
Since October 1, 2009 the ambulance service in the German county Dahme-Spreewald treats cardiac arrest patient with a novel patient cooling system. Four emergency vehicles in Lübben, Luckau and Königs Wusterhausen have been equipped with the EMCOOLS cooling device.

Unique in Germany: The Johanniter-Ambulance Service" in the county Dahme-Spreewald introduced a novel cooling technique which protects cardiac arrest patients from ischemic injury. „With the EMCOOLS Pad the patient's core body temperature can be lowered to 33°C within two hours", says Frank Schwertfeger, medical director of the emergency service in Lübben.
