COOL EARLY. SAVE LIVES.
Pre-hospital treatment has its unquestionable benefits. Every minute counts and induction of therapeutic hypothermia immediately after ROSC can be crucial in patient survival¹ just as the ERC guidelines recommend cooling to be started "as soon as possible".
The portable EMCOOLS system allows patients to be cooled earlier than with conventional surface cooling products which have to be hospital based. EMCOOLS has been designed to be fast and effective at inducing mild therapeutic hypothermia with a cooling rate of more than 3ºC in out of hospital cardiac arrest patients.²
The EMCOOLS system has been designed to be easy to use in the out of hospital setting, the non-invasive pads take only 2 minutes to apply to the patient's body. The pads are prefrozen and then conveniently stored in a highly insulated transport box which maintains the pads within the correct operating temperature range.
The mobile design of the EMCOOLS system means that on admission patients can be transferred problem free around the hospital whilst keeping cold.
